The 2016 January - June Newsletter of the Global Fund African Regional Grant on Removing Legal Barriers

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Global Fund have signed a US$10.5 million grant to address human rights barriers faced by vulnerable communities in Africa, and facilitate access to health care. The grant is the first of its kind and will cover 10 countries including Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, the Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. The project will also work at continental and regional levels with the African Union Commission and key Regional Economic Communities (SADC, ECOWAS, EAC) to promote alignment of national laws and policy with regional and international human rights commitments
